(I want to add that this picture makes me very uncomfortable. The combination of a visible ribcage and a pirate tie seems to suggest that this level of thinness is trendy — a mentality that is a major contributing factor in the prevalence of eating disorders.   However, because it makes me so uncomfortable that I don’t even want to look at it, I felt that was all the more reason to post it.  I hope that makes a shred of sense. ~andi)

    Thanks for posting this picture. It made me uncomfortable for much the same reasons. In a world where we are constantly bombarded with images of too-thin people making fashion, it’s important to have these conversations, especially about the places where negative self-image and gender ambiguity intersect. Makes perfect sense to me why you posted it.
