Fe fi fo fum.

I sort of came out to my mum the other day. I explained by saying that rather than being female (my biological sex) or male, my gender is foppish dandy. We decided that the correct pronouns for someone who identifies as a foppish dandy are “fe fi fo fum.” It’s not quite accurate, and I’m not sure she understands how much this means to me, but it’s good enough for now.
What’s your experience?

I’m so glad it went well!
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking it in small steps. I mean, it’s a huge thing to come out, but it’s also a lot of work for that other person to start seeing one in an other light.

LOVE. It.
Somehow fe fi fo and fum don’t sound as awkward as ze and hir. I vote for putting these into use.

I’m in love with the idea of “Foppish Dandy” as a gender! That’s so wonderful I don’t have words for it!

I totally agree with Avery. This was the most awesome thing I’ve read all day (and actually, I’ve read some pretty awesome things today).

Yeah, I’m really digging those pronouns.
“Simon is awesome. I talked to fi yesterday. Fe was reading a really interesting-looking short story collection and I asked if I could borrow fo book once fe was done with it, but fe said that it wasn’t fum, it was fo friend’s.”
Okay this is actually kinda difficult but I think after the learning curve it’d be way rad. I dunno, for some reason I just can’t get on the xe/ze/(th)ey/e/whatever bandwagon.
