I hope.

Someone wrote…

I was born a girl, and I’m okay with that. Sometimes I’m afraid, though, that my passion for gender equality and shucking those gender boxes comes more from the fear of female vulnerability, and how I’ve already been taken advantage of in ways against my will, than actual caring. I hope I’m a better person than that.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

I think, sometimes, that it takes certain things to open our eyes to injustices, and that doesn’t make fighting for it any more selfish than if we’d been brought around peacefully.
