Profile: Andy

You can call me… Andy

I identify as… transgender/genderqueer, behind a few other descriptors like fat, feminist, parent, spouse, etc.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … Whatever. Really. I oscillate between genders in my head, so it seems silly to insist on one set of pronouns.

I’m attracted to… feminist men.

When people talk about me, I want them to… take me seriously. I’ve tried on a lot of hats, not realizing that the issue was really the rest of the outfit, so to speak.

I want people to understand… that different oppressions are intertwined. That while some are more prevalent or affect more people, they are all equal in importance. That progress for some should not come at the expense of others. That none of us are truly free until all of us are free.

About Andy
I’m a feminist. A parent and a spouse. I’m wicked smart and love reading, music and good conversation. Currently trying to learn more about wine and getting ready to go back to school this spring after dropping out four years ago.
