Sarah/Max/Alex

You can call me… Sarah, which is my given name, or Max or Alex, which are masculine names I sometimes (increasingly often) take on.

I identify as… a being. I don’t like it when my age, gender, or anything else irrelevant is pointed out. I’m a person who likes The Sisters of Mercy, who works at PacSun, who likes Sedaris. I’m honest and I try to be funny. Being a man or a woman has nothing to do with those things.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … I get female ones mostly, but I don’t mind, and some of my close friends can tell when to call me by a masculine pronoun.

I’m attracted to… everyone and everything. When I survey a room, it’s the women I notice first, but certainly I don’t discriminate against a penis when it’s attached to a fun and brilliant man.

When people talk about me, I want them to… say something true.

I want people to understand… me.
