ah yes . . . my first intimations that i wasn’t like everybody else was when my parents took me to see “cabaret” when i was 5. i was both in love with and wanted to be the emcee. i couldn’t decide if i wanted to live *as* him with the two ladies or “sleep on the bottom if dropped in one night” with all three of them.
