Okay good James. You could certainly pass, so why not dress like a beautiful modern girl and not a campy little Halloween costume?

Well *maybe* James *likes* to dress like in the photo! Or just felt like dressing up… “modern” isn’t always the be all and end all. Also, “campy” can be fun too;)

Anyway, I agree with the previous comments: looks cute!

Passing: not always the point. I certainly don’t “pass” as anything when I get dressed up.

James, you look positively delicious. (I, uh, mean that in the least creepy way possible.) Your sense of poise (and your hair!) reminds me ever so slightly of Prince Poppycock.

Why the heck should someone feel like they have to fit the ‘conventional’ type of femininity, and not this kind? This *is* a site about non-gender conforming, right? Have I got the right tab open?

Sorry for all the anger. Can I just take it back and go along with what everybody else says and agree? You are all right and I am wrong. I will adjust my sexuality accordingly and conform to your role models, gender assignments and aesthetic parameters of acceptance and validation.

Uh, what? I’m not sure what’s going on here. It just looks like a cute picture to me.

    tigr replied:

One neither has to adjust one’s sexuality (if that’s even possible?), nor would one need to conform to anyone else’s role models or aesthetics (not even your own!). Then again, it would be nice if people also wouldn’t ask anyone else to conform to any of *their* particular standards. I don’t think there’s “right” or “wrong” when it comes to aesthetics; you can like or dislike something, and someone else can dislike or like the same thing. And of course one can voice one’s opinions and likes and dislikes! And people don’t have to agree with each other, either. I just think everyone ought to be courteous and nice to each other, even when disagreeing:)

    Gen replied:

Because somebody wanting to conform to their own gender identity/presentation is exactly the same as demanding you conform to theirs! Oh wait. No it isn’t.
