More uncomfortable.

Someone wrote…

I’m more uncomfortable about being short than I am about being trans.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

I’m a short transperson too. It’s okay, really! There’s no need to be uncomfortable.

Comfort is not about what other people like, but I like short people. Prefer them. Just sayin’.

Short transpeople unite! I’m only 5′ 1″ at the most.

Is it weird that I think that is completely awesome?

You do have a point :)

    I’m 5′ 1″/2″ :(

    But I know a few cisguys who’re shorter..so it’s okay :)
I always feel slightly proud when I’m stood next to them..

    couldn’tve put it any better!
But I figure that’s also something I’ll end up coming to terms with.

I’m uncomfortable being 6 foot :( Not just coz I’m MTF, in general it would make more sense if I didn’t stand out.

Yes. I’m only just getting over being 5′ 0″. 0″! Some days I mind a lot, but today I just don’t care. Must be this peppy music I’m listening to :D

I feel like being short (5’1″) is my largest obstacle in being perceived as androgynous.

    I hate being short. D: I’m about 4’10”, myself.

I feel like that sometimes too, only it’s with being tall.

Being FtM and 5’3 can be hard. I don’t really care about it now, but what if I still have to shop in the children’s department when I’m 50?

I actually feel more comfortable being a short guy than an ‘average-sized’ girl – and it can actually be pretty nifty, ’cause if you’re tiny enough you can shop in the kids department at the store and all your clothes will be waaay cheaper. :D

I know exactly the feeling. I’ve actually been diagnosed with body dysphoria, and I’m more dysphoric about height than about my breasts. Surgery can take my breasts away. It can’t add to my height.

I just read some ridiculous stats about how, in “white male CEO” culture, prevalence of tall CEOs is WAY disproportionate to the height breakdown of the rest of the population.

Probably time we added height to the list of isms. It’s not just being female or a person of color that screws up your chances at power.

    4’9. Do I win?

My height is the thing I’m most self conscious about.

I wished I would stop growing on my 6th? birthday, and blew out the candles. I wanted to stay under 4′ forever. It didn’t happen.

I think I’m uncomfortable about my height BECAUSE I’m trans. If I’d been born male, or were a woman, I’d be perfectly fine with my 5’5″ height.

6’1″ and it makes going out girly a pain in the butt. I just wish I could wear heels without towering over every one.
