Not a paradox.

Someone wrote…

I’m a man. And proud to have and use the vagina I was born with.

I’m heterosexual. And proud to be Queer.

I’m masculine. And a proud Femme.

I’m not a contradiction, not a paradox, not an oxymoron. I’m just damn proud to be ME.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

I AM a contradiction, and just as proud of it, and proud that we ALL can be proud of whatever we are :D
…even when we contradict each other!

    Yesss.

Sometimes the words are contradictory, but just because words are limited doesn’t mean people are.

    Contradictions are bloody beautiful.

This is beautiful. Yes, language is often contradictory in theory, but reality isn’t. Language does many things, but isn’t perfect. Anyway, this made me happy!

    Do I contradict myself?
Very well, then I contradict myself.

    Amen, brother!

I’m almost the same, only I would describe myself as a “gay” man in a “straight” relationship – figure that one out ;)

I’m th OP. Mark, I’ve been (and sometimes still am) a straight man in a “gay” relationship so I totally get where you’re coming from.

I’m in what I consider a gay relationship, but what society considers a straight relationship.

    Call me not a contradiction
If I contradict your notions of me
    So be it.

    I am myself
    entirely consistent with myself
I am changeable, variable, whimsical, occasional, seasonal
    As the mood takes her
    So he will do.

You don not get to define me for myself,
You can define me for yourself – if you must,
You can define yourself for yourself – if you want to,
But if you decide to define me
    as a contradiction
    The onus is on you
    To resolve me.

Or not – as you choose.

    Whatever your choice
I do not need to be fixed or mended
I require no help or assistance
I am not seeking these things
He is OK just now as she is.

Nor do I seek solitude, necessarily,
    nor to be entirely alone
    (though I like my space)
    just unique.

    Jessica – that’s beautiful.

I’m considering getting a tattoo that just says “I am not what you say I am; I am who I say I am”

I really love this. Just because terms may seem contradictory, does not mean that people are, or that such contradictory terms cannot exist in one beautiful being. Hell, im a mass of contradictions myself. And I love every minute of it.
