Gender as a rubber band.

Someone wrote…

I’ve started thinking of gender as a rubber band, it has no real sides, is stretchable, and can come in any size or colour.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

I think of it as a menagerie with all kinds of beautiful bold colorful and wild creatures.

That’s really similar to what I believe. I think of it as a Möbius strip. At first glance, it appears to have two definite sides, but if you investigate it it has no palpable boundaries, only percieved ones. It manages to be complex yet simple, and very real.

I’ve also thought of my gender as a rubber band it likes to just sit there and if you putt it to ether side it causes tension and snaps back into the middle.

If gender’s a rubber band, then I like it best when it breaks and all the awesome genderf*ckers come pouring out ;)
