If Anyone Bothered to Ask…

Someone wrote…

The world looks at me and sees a cisgendered heterosexual, but in reality, I’m neither. If anyone bothered to ask, they’d know.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

I love it when people actually ask how I identify or what I want to be called. I think it has happened maybe twice.

I found this out about a good friend of mine not long ago. I guess I get so used to myself, and presenting in a noncisgendered way, that sometimes I forget to ask. Which is more than a little embarrassing. I have two friends who generally present as cisgendered-ish that I never thought to ask.

One came out and told me hirself. The other never said directly to me, but I figured it out through careful listening. I guess it just shows sometimes its all in learning to listen.
