Why Pick Just One?

Someone wrote…

Two parts sir, one part ma’am; otherwise known as “sir, ma’am, sir,” (say it quickly) which represents the rapid fire salutations I receive in public – no need to pick just one, I don’t.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

Good idea. I’m personally fond of “sirdame,” but I don’t think anyone not-in-the-know would get it, so sir ma’am sir is probably more accessible.
