Middle Ground

Someone wrote…

Genderqueer to me today means feeling sensual and gentle enough to shave and wear a cute skirt, yet strong enough to take on the world and tell off anyone who has a problem with it as I go proudly about my day.

Loving the freedom of the middle ground; it’s not either-or, it’s both-neither, and damn it feels beautiful.

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

I’m uncomfortable with the implication that being strong and taking no nonsense is an inherently male-gendered trait. This description could fit plenty of binary women I know — cis as well as trans! Being female (or male, for that matter) doesn’t have to limit any person’s freedom.

Ditto! THAT is pretty binary, to me.

That’s because the is no inherently male nor inherently female trait – there’s just human traits.
