Restroom

Someone wrote…

I get so happy when I actually see a gender neutral restroom in public. Not just because it exists, but because I won’t feel awkward going in the “wrong” one and people will stare at me less.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

So true; I actually made business cards to carry with me that have links to information about gender identity/expression and my state’s laws about it. But it’s really nice to pee in peace without having to worry about it.

That is such a good idea, and yet at the same time, I’m kinda sad that the need for it exists…

Indeed. For me, I found myself wanting to give educational web links when people would bother me in the bathroom. But that’s never a point where you can be like, got a pen and some paper? I decided to make cards to carry in my wallet. MS Word has a template to make your own cards and lets you double side it; I was able to print it out on normal paper at home. I provide links to The Gender Book on one side and my state’s laws on the other. Thankfully, my state DOES have laws with protection for gender identity/expression.
