Pioneers

Someone wrote…

Instead of viewing my life based on the loss of my birth family, I have chosen to view my life in terms of my very large (and always growing) LGBTQ family. My chosen family is loving and kind, accepting, nurturing, and always ready to stand up for each other. My family is scattered all over the world, in every walk of life.

I also believe that I have had the freedom I enjoy in my life because of all those who came out before me. We owe those pioneers great thanks. I am out and proud in hopes of making life easier for those who come after me.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?
