Closets

Someone wrote…

After 4 years of being out of the closet as non-binary, I’m going back in. I feel proud that I have become confident enough to know that my identity doesn’t have to be out there to be legitimate.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

Sounds good great to me. I’m not there yet but I’d like to be.

I feel like that sometimes. And it’s okay. But if you’re comfortable with who you are and don’t feel the need to express that too much, I wouldn’t call it ‘going back in’: in appearance maybe, but I’d rather call it comfy with yourself. And if it changes again that’s fine too.

Good for you! Closets can be cozy and comfy for the right person. Good luck in the future, friendo!
