Brain Responses

Someone wrote…

My brain’s responses to my gender non-conforming:

* Pfft, foundation and concealer are barely make-up anyway.

* Well… it’s not like anyone will see your underwear anyway. If you want to wear lacy thongs, that’s your business.

* Okay, fine, you can wear the bra underneath your shirt out in public. But I swear, if people see the straps, I will kill us in embarrassment!

* …Wow. I expected skirts to be comfy, but not this comfy. But you definitely can’t wear that out in public.

* You bought another skirt? But you already have two! Why would you need a third o–Oh. Ohhh. Wow. It feels like wearing a cloud around your waist.

* …Crap. You are really frikkin’ cute in that. Now you need to buy the perfect shirt to go with it.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

Snacks and Make-up Combos are go!

Reposted from Skelotim on Instagram.

“Tim O takes his inspiration from snacks. Specifically, the colour combinations on chip bags and soon, even beer cans! Tim has been posting these pictures and tutorials to Instagram and YouTube for 11 months, and was surprised to see them become popular.
“I just love by accepting yourself flaws and all,” Tim O told Bored Panda. “We’re all going to be judged by someone, might as well embrace the flaw we have and get comfortable with them so that when people judge we’re confident within ourselves to know words can’t hurt you. And that’s all live by embracing my fatness, baldness, all that!”
From an article on Bored Panda.

30 Years

Someone wrote…

It has taken me 30 years to awaken to the notion that my vagina doesn’t make me any less of a man — and that being a man doesn’t make me any less of a feminist.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

You can call me… Chi

I identify as… adrogyne

As far as third-person pronouns go, … you can call me “she” or “he” – either is fine.

When people talk about me, I want them to… not adjust how they speak to me based on how they perceive my gender, and realise they can talk to me the way they talk to girls and talk to me the way they talk to guys.

Question: Testosterone

E. asks…

As an AFAB who wants to appear androgynous, I am considering taking testosterone one day. But some things about it just seem pretty risky to me…

Can I possibly get some views on it, or some personal experiences?

Thank you!

You can call me… Skylar

I identify as… A gray-asexual panromantic female, but sometimes I feel androgynous, or like a guy but like a femme boy not super masculine.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … I prefer she and her, but if gender neutral pronouns become more common I would probably use those.

I’m attracted to… I’m attracted to humans, their bits don’t really matter to me.

When people talk about me, I want them to… Not define who I am by my gender or sexuality, because, honestly, it changes for me and the important things about me are inside my heart and brain.

I want people to understand… That I love answering the question “what’s your sexuality” and “what’s your gender” even though a lot of people don’t because talking about it helps me get the word out and makes it not so uncommon.

Surgery without T in Germany

LordValdi asks…

Hello. (Here is the excuse for bad English)

I’m a fifteen year old person from Germany. I say person, because I had much confusion and denial with my gender identity. I came out in my school as a ftm, but now I am questioning.

It’s not that I want to be female, but that I feel somewhere else in the spectrum, like agender for example.

My therapist isn’t a great help and since I’m desperate I wanted to ask for advice here.

The main problem is, that here in Germany you can’t undergo any surgery at all without

1.Straightly identifying as male/female
2.Going on T.

Transsexuality is seen as a disease here, and if you identify as anything else, it’s seen as unnecessary to get any medication.
Not that these identities aren’t respected, they sure are, but for people like me, who experience (for example) breast dysphoria, it is kind of a problem. I own a binder, but it presses to strong on my heart, where I have health problems (more below).

I could simply go on T and get the surgery later on, since I came out as ftm, but that (for now) just feels wrong, like a betray to the community even. Also Testosterone would be a danger for my health, since I already have a disease to be taken care of, not to mention all the side effects of the medication I am taking.

In 2017, there is supposed to be a change in law, that changes the law around seeing Transsexuality as a disease but right now my main goal is to get breast surgery, and nothing else. For years I just want them to go away. But how can I get surgery here?

Is this a question anyone can answer?

Please post your response in the comments below.

You can call me… Kay

I identify as… Female….mostly. Most of the time. Mainly in the middle. I think. Actually, I identify as confused.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … You can just refer to me as she/her/lass/chick/dude/man/mate

I’m attracted to… The person not the gender.

When people talk about me, I want them to… Get that I’m female, but have a healthy proportion of male in my brain too.

I want people to understand… Me.

About Kay
Hi, I’m Kay and I’m confused.
I’m a female makeup artist, who thinks I’m like 70/30 female to male. Maybe less male, maybe more. Maybe labels like Female and Male don’t matter and are a contrived notion. But I love being female, I love my curves and my girls and giggling with them about men and sex…but I also feel there’s a healthy side order of male living in here too. Maybe everyone has that but I’m not so I’ve yet to find a label I think fits my situation, and I guess that’s why I’m here, to learn more from you beautiful enlightened people about gender and what I am.

You can call me… Djinn

I identify as… an agender witch.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … I really prefer necro/necrom pronouns, but to be honest neopronouns feel like a luxury not many cis people will bother to afford. I’m also fine with they/them.

I’m attracted to… no one sexually. Romantically, I’m attracted to people of all gender orientations. I’m especially a sucker for people with musical talent though…

When people talk about me, I want them to… recognise that my gender and orientation are valid and real, that I am not confused or deluded, but I am a real person just like them.

I want people to understand… that being qu*er doesn’t mean I cannot be Christian. My faith is intact regardless of how I identify or who I date. The love of the LORD transcends all identities, and He loves us all regardless.

I identify as… Non-binary/agender/genderqueer

As far as third-person pronouns go, … I prefer they/them, but its not a big deal to me

I’m attracted to… I am a romantic asexual

When people talk about me, I want them to… be respectful :)

I want people to understand… That asexual pirates are not interested in their booty.

About Tam
I’m currently studying a Masters degree in Music (performance). I have completed undergrad degrees in both science and music. I obviously love music, and I love to read and write. I have a fiance and a giant wolfhound dog. I’ve known I was asexual for a long time, but have recently embraced my inherent genderqueer-ness. It’s a big relief to now relax and be who I really am, instead of constantly trying to fit in as ‘female’!
