Profile: I wish I knew

You can call me… I wish I knew.

I identify as… Neutrois, possibly with some occasional fluid tendencies towards the feminine area of the spectrum? Usually only when I’m very happy with childlike wonder or when I feel fairly frightened, so I’m not sure if that’s gendery stuff or just how those emotions feel…

As far as third-person pronouns go, … In a perfect world, I’d go by ‘ze/hir’ without hesitation. For now, I’m just trying to make the tentative mental transition from she/her to those.

I’m attracted to… Anyone with a wonderful personality that’s a wonderful friend to me first- demiromantic ace spec ftw, amirite?

When people talk about me, I want them to… Just be polite, and not shittalk me behind my back. I need better friends…

I want people to understand… What it’s like not to fit in, to not relate to either of the public majorities, to feel like you *have* to be an activist in some way, shape, or form just to carve out a tiny space in the world for you.

About I wish I knew.
I’m Puppys, though that name only works in virtual communities… I’ve been contemplating my gender off and on for years, and exploring it since late 2014. I have a lot of insecurities about my gender, and I’m terrified of going to community college this semester to study game programming/design. It’s the best decision for me, though; so I look forward to it.

I identify as… Genderfluid, demiromantic, and pansexual. Also a gender nonconformist.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … I prefer they/them but I’m also okay with she/her.

I’m attracted to… Great personalities. Your gender doesn’t really have a factor in if I’m going to date you or not. How attractive you are does lol.

When people talk about me, I want them to… Not automatically assume I identify as female.

I want people to understand… That I am who I am. I will not change or fit the mold you put me in. I will not change because that’s the way the rest of society is. I will not conform.

My Presentation of Myself

Someone wrote…

I definitely feel like a male inside. but i always feel like people don’t take that seriously, because my presentation of myself is more ambiguous. I never really pay attention to society’s gendered clothing restrictions. I have to remind myself there are cis men who wear skirts too.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

Profile: Kai

You can call me… Kai

I identify as… a gay asexual, specifically gray-ace, non-binary boy. although i’m AFAB, i identify more as a masculine person.. that still doesn’t mean i’m not feminine at times.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … I prefer they/them, hir/hirs or he/him are completely fine.

I’m attracted to… intelligent masculine presenting individuals. reason why i put “individuals” is because i am completely open with poly-amorous relationships.

When people talk about me, I want them to… that i am a completely understanding and humorous person. as well, not to judge me. i am an extremely emotional individual and i take people’s opinion very personally.

I want people to understand… that everyone is their own unique individual and they shouldn’t be bullied for who or how they identify themselves.

Profile: Raven

You can call me… Raven… I guess?

I identify as… nonbinary, I suppose.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … they/them, please, but I won’t fight you if you choose to use she/her.

I’m attracted to… I’m asexual and demi-panromantic.

When people talk about me, I want them to… say what they know for certain, and nothing more. I can’t stand people making assumptions about people they don’t know anything about.

I want people to understand… that I’m struggling, and that I’m not the only one. More than anything, I want them to understand when I do something without giving a reason, and give me time to explain.

About Raven… I guess?
Haha, about me? I don’t even know anything about me. :P

Openly Queer

Someone wrote…

“Openly queer” is a funny expression, because you can’t really be openly queer. Every time you meet someone new, you would have to say “Hi, I’m name, I’m queer.”

Like, how about just not assuming people are straight/cis?

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

Profile: Shauna

You can call me… Shauna, Sean, or a goofy spontaneous nickname

I identify as… gender-meh, with an occasional but vivid streak of gender-thespian. 90% of the time, I just…don’t even notice or care. 10% of the time I still don’t know what I am, but whatever it is, it’s flamboyant and turned up to 11.

As far as third-person pronouns go, … I like variety! I hear “she” and “her” the most often, so those are my least favorite–they’re not offensive; just overplayed.

I’m attracted to… novelty. The weirder, the better–nothing piques my interest like a manner or quirk that I’ve never seen before. And I like strange ideas, especially if you can put them in horrifically purple prose.

When people talk about me, I want them to… focus on what the things I create rather than the things I didn’t choose.

I want people to understand… that the outlandish, extravagant side of me isn’t an act that I put on occasionally–it’s genuine, and I only /reveal/ it occasionally.

About Shauna, Sean, or a goofy spontaneous nickname
I’m a good poet, a decent artist, and a terrible musician. I’m into Latin-derived languages, artificial intelligence, Oscar Wilde, and spiritual syncretism. I can probably beat you in a rapier fight. Blues dancing is my favorite, but I can also do swing, lindy, salsa, bachata, and a moderately graceful waltz.
