Profile: Ormi Fay

You can call me… Ormi Fay

I identify as… A genderfluid pansexual

As far as third-person pronouns go, … She/her is fine. My gender expression has been mostly female, for the sake of keeping my job and not confusing the hell out of people. It doesn’t feel right about a third of the time. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to demand neutral pronouns.

I’m attracted to… Kind, thoughtful, beautiful souls. It doesn’t matter what parts they have on the outside.

When people talk about me, I want them to… Stop qualifying my achievements, behavior, or aspirations within their perceived gender limitations. Don’t tell me I am doing great for a “woman.” That’s offensive and wrong. I am doing alright for a human being.

I want people to understand… I can’t relate to the cis female experience, anymore than I can relate to the cis male experience. I’ve never been just one or the other. I am both and neither.

About Ormi Fay
A 31-year old who started their career in art and graphic design, only to gravitate years later to talent management. Because the most important part of any business is its people. Still loves art, music, tattoos and all manner of self-expression. Hopes to one day see a world free of gender bias.
