Shane

You can call me… Shane

I identify as… male

As far as third-person pronouns go, … male pronouns please.

I’m attracted to… women (trans women or bio women). Someone who I can be real with; someone with whom I can have playful (and sometimes intelligent) banter.

When people talk about me, I want them to… respect my right to be called a male despite what’s on my birth certificate.

I want people to understand… that gender and sexuality are not the same thing; nor are gender and sex.

About Shane
I’m a 20-year-old transgender man. I’m part of a performance art group for LGBTQ+Allies called Dreams of Hope that aims to educate its audiences on LGBT issues that youth face today. I identify as pagan, heterosexual, and a recovering addict. I came to terms with my gender identity shortly before my 19th birthday. I enjoy writing prose, drawing, boxing, riding horses and dirt bikes, playing guitar, singing, and being with people I care for.

You are my age, you share my identity and you figured it out at the same age I did. We are not alone in our experience.

How long have you been clean for? I’ve only got two days this time around, but I know it’s gets easier, gotta take it one minute at a time, sometimes.
We have a lot in common; we should be friends. <3
