I’ve been trying to figure out how to explain how I feel about my identity to other people, especially as I don’t really feel like a trans man.
The phrase that I came to and rings true for me is “femme bear.” I want to be a big, strong, muscle-y, hairy person, and wear heels and flower patterns. I like my beard, but I hate that I felt I had to give up wearing lipstick completely.

Today in Religion class, we went over Daoism. This is from one of their sacred texts, the Dao Te Tsing (or spelled Tao Te Ching):
“She who knows, does not speak. She who speaks, does not know. I do not know.”
As we interpreted it, if you know something, you can’t say it. As soon as you name something, you give it limits. We will never know everything.
I am not androgynous. I am not a female, nor a male. I can’t be limited by terms and social connotations.
My resolve: the word that describes me is… “me.”
It’s hard and it hurts to explain myself, but that’s all I have. I guess that’s all I need.

The trouble with being attracted to someone who isn’t thrilled with their body is the feeling that your enthusiasm for their body could be viewed poorly.

You can call me… Krishnaa (or Krish)
I identify as… Guy. Dude. Boy. Man.
As far as third-person pronouns go, … I prefer masculine pronouns, but I’m okay with either. I don’t look particularly masculine (my mother runs a tight ship and tries her hardest to make sure I look “respectable”) and have since given up trying, but I like to be acknowledged as a guy as far as personality goes.
I’m attracted to… Everyone. Guys, girls, hermaphrodrites, trans, genderqueers, etc. I have a tendency to go for people who are kind of ambiguous.
When people talk about me, I want them to… Quit with the special treatment but be courteous.
I want people to understand… That my outward appearance isn’t the formula for my personality. Gender isn’t an equation. We all have our combinations and I’m not trying to take the place of something I’m not.
About Krishnaa
I’m a writer who’s just trying to figure things out as they go along.

“I’ve always been quite androgynous. I took this picture to test how well I can pass as both ends of the gender spectrum.”

Being in a relationship with another genderqueer is so fulfilling. We can be whatever or whoever we want to be. We switch our roles with such fluidity. I’m the girl, I’m the boy. They are the girl, then they are the boy. One thing that stands out though, is that we’ll always be us. Together.

Hmm, how to describe Ed…
I guess I could start with: “she is a comically eccentric teenage girl around 13 years in age” who refers to herself in third person, dresses androgynously, and chose the name Edward because she thought it was fun. How cool is that?
** Edward is a character on the fabulous anime Cowboy Bebop, where she works as a hacker, fools around, and plays with her dog. When I first started the show I thought Ed was a boy, and when I found out she wasn’t- I loved the character even more.
