Profile: Daphnie-Jo
You can call me… Daphnie-Jo.
I identify as… Genderqueer.
As far as third-person pronouns go, … He or She, I never request that anyone refer to me as “She” but my heart always skips a beat when someone does.
I’m attracted to… Intelligent, creative and confident people who follow their hearts.
When people talk about me, I want them to… say Daphnie is a kind, intelligent, generous, person who is worth knowing. That I am a loyal friend, good husband, and dedicated father.
I want people to understand… that gender-variant people are regular folks who like to talk about the weather, and current events as much as anybody else.
About Daphnie-Jo
Forty years old, married, father of two. Genderqueer or Genderfluid. Whatever labels work for whomever might be reading this.

Aww! Your kids are so lucky to have you as a dad/mom. (Heh, where was that post on queer familial terms again…?)

Making difficult choices in one’s life can be very scary and also very fulfilling. It can be very difficult for spouses and children who have to come along for the ride. Some people say that’s not fair on them, but I think that persisting in dishonesty and fear is worse. Hope your journey has lots of laughter and frequent uncritical affection.
