Less Binary

If I presented less binary, I think the people at work wouldn’t take my transition seriously.
What’s your experience?

Is this about them and their reaction to you, or is it about you and who you are. Do not let people minimize you, but also, do not allow other people to make you feel pressured to do more or do faster than you naturally and organically want to do.

Preach! This is hard for me, too. No advice, just wishing you strength and comfort.

I get you. I’m assigned female at birth and identify as nonbinary, and I do usually dress in more masculine clothing but when I (rarely) do things like paint my nails or wear a skirt people start to think I was lying about being nonbinary or it really was just a phase. If people start to question usually what I do is flat out ask them, “why is nail polish (or other gendered item or activity) a girl thing” and I have yet to find someone who doesn’t answer with something along the lines of “because”, usually also causing them to reconsider what they previously thought was gendered
