Doing gender.

Someone wrote…

If I can’t “do” my gender properly, I can’t get help in an appliance store, I’m refused the use of a fitting room, and no one will make conversation with me, or even eye contact for that matter.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

has the situation changed any Chris?
I get similar responses in more conservative areas, or rural areas, but it seems as long as I don’t pay attention to it, usually other people won’t. usually.
