Stunning.

The more my mother tells me that I am a stunning girl, the more I feel like she is trying to make me care about whether I present myself as a particular gender. I look good in whatever I wear (or don’t wear).
What’s your experience?

I’ve had similar problems with my mom. She once said that I “think I’m a guy.” That was before I even realized I was a genderqueer, and she said it in an offensive way. She also seemed to want me to be feminine, and said guys wouldn’t like me if I wear ____ or look a certain way. And I’m not straight, so that really pissed me off. I haven’t talked to her in two years, for various reasons.
