Terms

J. wrote…

I am a MAAB 29yo that has recently come to terms with my genderfluid pansexual identity. I am struggling with feelings of isolation as I do not know anyone else that is dealing with similar issues or feelings. I am just starting to discover sites like this and other social networking groups (like genderqueerchat on youtube) and it is a great relief to know I am not alone. But, I still have a strong desire to connect with others in a more tangible way… to have someone who can give me a hug and tell me they understand what I am going through. I could really just use a friend.

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

I know how you feel! I find myself desperately hoping to someday find someone else who identifies as transgender/genderqueer– to meet them in person. I think that someday I will find them– but I don’t know when!

Yeah, in random places! Last year I was travelling in Ireland with my sibling, and in one hostel in that town next to the lakes and stuff in that national park (forgot what it’s called) we meet this guy, and at some point he chats with me, turns out he’s trans (and knew genderfork!) — I was SO surprised (posivitely)! Never expected that. Was fun, we went to the castle together; I’d kind of hoped to stay in touch, but he was suddenly gone over night… (If you ever read this– say hi!? :D)

Hey I’m a 25 year old SDA FTM Christian in GA. An SDA Christian is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian. An FTM is a Female to Male Transsexual. I’m defining these turns because I’ve been asked to do this when posting on other sights. I’m Visually Impaired. I can’t see out of my left eye. I can only see a little out of my right eye. I play a sport called Goalball. I play for my state. I play on a girls team for now. I hope to some day play on a guys team. If I do not billed my skills up to where I would feel comfortable playing on a guys team I will be ok staying on a girls team. Goalball is a Paralympic sport played all around the world. If you would like to find out more about Goalball you can go to youtube.com there are lots of videos from all over the world. I like meeting and hanging out with new people. I would like to meat other SDA’s that are L G B T Q Q I A . Hey did I forget any of the letters? I just like meating new people so if you would like to just say hi then say hi. Hey Chris!

Couldn’t find you on Facebook. I opened this comment because I was wondering if J. was from GA, so I could perhaps meet with them in person, like they need, but I’m cisgender female and bi, and I guess they just need a similar person to them. But you’re from GA! I’m curious about genderqueer and trans people. I don’t know many other LGBTQ people, and I would like to meet them, too. So hi!

    Isolation sucks, so good luck!
I’m not sure how TransMentors is with non-binary trans-umbrella folk, but perhaps it’s worth a look?

Also, *we’ve* got forums these days, which allow for more connection with others: http://discuss.genderfork.com/
