Pride

Submitted by Chris, the model.

“I feel so happy. This is really me.
Today I went and celebrated LGBT Pride.
Afterwards I went for a walk and got on the train.
I got stared at by some people. I’ve learned to ‘own’ the stare. I stare right back.

Embracing my beard has taught me that I don’t have to be afraid of being ‘caught out’ for not passing or for not adhering to the feminine stereotype. The beard is a statement that I am acknowledging the masculine ‘roots’, and that it’s there for a reason.”
