PROMlem

Someone wrote…

I go to a school so small that everyone can come to prom. Otherwise there would only be about 12 kids there. So with talk of prom starting to surface, i have realized a PROMblem. (Haha. Puns) What to wear? There is no way I will be able to predict if i’ll feel masculine or feminine or neither or both in advance. Gender fluidity doesn’t exactly fit a schedule. O.o

What’s your experience?

And what are you thinking about gender right now?

You could try a flowy, loose-fitting pantsuit. Like where the pants fit around the waist, but then the legs are all loose and swoopy. You could also try a mix-and-match gender-bender kind of outfit – a dress with a suit jacket overtop, or a masculine-style tux with a beautiful blouse.

Or, if you’re PoC, you could try something traditional. Like, if you/your family are from India, you could wear a sari with pants underneath, instead of the traditional petticoat. (**I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS IF YOU’RE NOT POC!**)
