Genesis P-Orrridge talks about their transformation into a pandrogyne, and the death of their “other half” — lady jay.
Genesis and Lady Jay had many surgeries done to make themselves look like each other; in this way they (together) created a third being.

In 2003 he won the Turner prize. He collected said prize decked out in a silky lilac babydoll dress, and has been dressing in women’s clothes from his early teens. Now age 50, he lives and works in London with his wife and daughter.
He has described his transvestite style, manifested in “Claire,” as being like “the crack cocaine of femininity,” all ribbons and frills and bows.
I found this video of him talking about the importance of being different and stuff… it’s really sweet. and funny. moving, even. Very quotable.

This is a stop-motion video of Edward Vigiletti, a beautiful young man, putting on his makeup and transforming into a beautiful young woman. He has been referred to as the male Lady Gaga, and I can see why. He’s beautiful and androgynous without the makeup, too.

I love the way this ad for Israeli Gay Youth shows the guy and girl boxed in, then mixing and matching things stereotypically associated with one gender, and playing around with everything. In the end, instead of picking one thing in particular, they have a huge rainbow of possibilities all lit up in front of them. Plus, it has awesome background music by Ivri Lider!

Red is one of the few people I follow on youtube, mostly because she is hilarious and keeps it real. Recently she went on tour with the Tranny Roadshow, and some kind person put this up on youtube. Red talks about life as a transwoman, offers the audience a metaphor they might want to use in their lives (but only if they find it useful!), and is just generally all kinds of awesome.

Probably the most entertaining half-hour of gender study ever! Halberstam makes me want to add a minor in Gender Studies to my degree…

Written in 1966, this song was intended to be about a time in the future when parents can choose their children’s gender and a family chooses to have four girls, but end up with three girls and a boy, so they decide to pretend the fourth child is female.
However, I find it could just as easily be a song being told from the point of view of someone expected to act female, but longs to be male.
It’s an interesting report on how Pakistan’s transgender minority are finding their voice :)

Chris Crocker talks about both sides of himself and how something such as facial hair or clothing choice can change things. Most of the time we see him/her/or hir (whichever you prefer) dressed as a female with “distinctly feminine” qualities such as makeup, high heels etc but here he discusses how simply growing out his facial hair changed what he wore and even who acknowledged him.

This is a short film done for a school project by a close friend of mine, set to “For Today I am a Boy” by Antony and the Johnsons.
In the artist’s own words, it’s a “transgender glamour gender variance genderfuck queer bromancecore portrait.” And I think that sums it up.

This is a re-creation of something that happened to a friend. The movie doesn’t give much backstory, so here is a little more: she identifies as a butch lesbian woman, but when she went to the hospital after some severe depression and suicide threats, they found what they perceived as her problem with gender (and her boxers) more interesting.

This is some very lovely genderbending and cross-dressing from Chris Corner and Imogen Heap. What I especially like is that Imogen is wearing an actual, man-shaped suit. It would’ve been so easy to give her a feminised version, but they didn’t and it makes me happy :D They also gave her sideburns and everything!
And the song ain’t half bad either…

The mix of sublime gender-neutral aesthetics — if you guys haven’t seen this, it is a definite MUST! ^__^

“Wrong Bathroom” is a fabulous youtube clip on the importance of gender-neutral toilets not just for transfolk, but also for genderqueers and anyone who expresses outside the annoying two-gender system.

Eddie Izzard is not only very funny, he describes perfectly the confusion of being genderqueer and at the same time having a side of yourself that fits your biological gender.
The male transvestite tomboy: “Running, jumping, climbing trees, putting on make-up when you’re up there.”

The fafafini are male bodied, but raised as female. They are treated very respectfully and marry men.
